Let hierop bij het opzetten van een nieuwe website
Wanneer je een nieuwe website opzet, is het van belang dat je verschillende factoren meeneemt in het proces. Er zullen dan ook veel belangrijke beslissingen moeten worden gemaakt die je achteraf moeilijk of niet meer kan terugdraaien. Hierbij kan je denken aan de URL structuur en de techniek van de website. Ook over de domeinnaam moet worden nagedacht. Deze kan niet zomaar worden teruggedraaid. In dit artikel helpen wij je door een aantal van deze belangrijke zaken te bespreken.
URL structuur
De URL structuur is als ware het skelet van je website. Alle pagina’s/URL’s zijn aan elkaar verbonden en zullen naar elkaar verwijzen. De URL structuur moet tactisch in elkaar zitten waarbij gebruiksvriendelijkheid voorop staat. Ook komt hierbij de techniek van de website al kijken. Wanneer je bijvoorbeeld een webshop hebt en de producten zijn vanaf verschillende categorieën te bereiken, zal het product een eigen URL moeten hebben waarbij de categorie in de URL komt te vervallen. Je moet ook denken aan de domeinnaam registreren. Het is natuurlijk van belang dat de domeinnaam die je graag wil, nog vrij is.
Techniek van de website
Techniek behoort tot de basis van je website. Wanneer de techniek niet goed in elkaar zit, zal je website ook niet het optimale resultaat behalen. Zorg dus dat redirects, canonicals en de page speed allemaal juist zijn geïmplementeerd en geoptimaliseerd. Naast deze drie aspecten zijn er ook nog andere zaken waar naar gekeken moet worden wanneer we het hebben over de techniek van een website. Denk hierbij aan de sitemap en robots.txt.
Gebruiksvriendelijkheid
Het doel van een webshop is het binnenkrijgen van orders oftewel conversies. Hierbij is gebruiksvriendelijkheid erg belangrijk. De bezoeker moet langzaam naar de producten/diensten en het order/bestelproces worden geleid. Hierbij moeten onder andere alle obstakels uit de weg zijn geruimd en de website er betrouwbaar uit zien.
